what would you all recommend if i drive off road semi-frequently?.. i love the look of the agressive m/t tread but how are they compared to and a/t as far as for everyday use on the road?....

oh btw i was looking at dunlop mud rovers m/t

if ur going to be driveing it more on the road then go with the a/t's there way quiter then those m/t and handle better and give u better gas milege . the m/t's suck in the snow but they are real good in mud ,thats probley the only thing there good for, o and of course they look better, but sounds like u need a/t

If you get a good M/T that can be very acceptable for road use. They are mostly bad in rain and ice. Deep snow, mud, rocks, is all good with them. It kinda depends, if you are gonna see a decent amount of mud and deep snow, they should be OK. From my experience the Pro Comp MT's ride like crap on the road. Firestone Destination MT's are pretty good, just a little hum. I've never experienced BFG MT's, although they should be as good or better than the Firestone's.

If mud isn't an issue, you would probably be good with some aggressive AT's, like BFG's.

well thats alot of great info! i love their look but... i may be goin with a/ts.... id still like to hear everyones input!! :) thanks guyssss

oh btw did i mention i love mud? lol heres with my michelin mud slicks i have now :)

Make a comprimise, get an off road tire thats got directional tread.

From my experience the Pro Comp MT's ride like crap on the road.

I had 33'' Pro Comp MTs when i bought my 92 and they drove fine. No worse than my Xterrains.

Just keep a constant check on 4wheelparts.com they usually have some kind of sale going on with tires. And Pro Comp is almost always doing Buy 3 get 1 free.

Check out http://www.treadepot.com for choices also. They offer free shipping alot, and I think it is free right now.

I've had 3 sets of the Dunlop Mud Rovers. I love 'em. They're cheap, last pretty long, and aren't too noisy until the tread is pretty worn. I've got over 30k on this set, and they are probably inspect-able, with only 1 rotation. They are great in the snow.

alright, i picked out a less expensive, locigal choice for the drivin i will be doin.. i asked a team manager at my ford dealer and he said there were about 60 tires i could get! i ended up going through all the mt/a/t's and found that a general grabber at2 looks like a good choice.. they even come with a 60,000 mile warrany! i even get a discount on them aswell which is a plus.. check em out.....v ;)
