Hey guys you probably all know my truck by now.
its a 2000 mountaineer v8 AWD with 151k miles on. has the TT twist/ shackles sitting on 32's.
I have a guy who wants to trade his 1995 ford ranger 4x4 v6 4.0 extended cab for my truck. his is a manual with 145k miles on it. its got a 6" rough country lift on it. i also talked him into $800 cash also.

I am just wondering if this is a good deal or not. i need to know ASAP.

the only reason he is selling his truck his because he had knee surgery and cant drive a stick.

ADVICE PLEASE... not terribly worried abotu MPG because they should be about the same if not his a smidgen better.

Hard to say without seeing both vehicles.

The stock specs and a few details don't tell the whole story. What's been replaced? What parts were used to do repairs? How much tread is on the tires?

When you get into manual transmissions, you also want to know about the clutch and slave cylinder, and whats in there and when was the last time everything was changed. If it's got 145,000 and the clutch and slave cylinder has never been replaced, you are going to be replacing all of it shortly.

If you like it and it looks to be in good condition and it doesn't have a bunch of cheap repair parts on it, go for it. Just make sure you don't wind up making a deal you later regret if you wind up with a vehicle that needs a lot of work and a few hundred if not a few thousand dollars put into it just to be in the same state of repair as your current one.

You most likely know what your truck is going to need in the near future and what has already been replaced. Can you say the same about the truck you want to trade for?
