Should shackles be replaced with springs?

I have new leaf springs for my 99EB 4X4. (I'm going to replace the 5 shocks at the same time but I haven't ordered them yet). Is there any reason to replace the shackles? Do the shackles come off fairly easily or will I destroy them in the process? I don't need any lift.

If there is a reason to replace them, it sounds from other threads like Autozone's might be iffy. Who makes good shackles with no lift?

Personally, I have never replaced shackles when doing leaf springs, unless the originals were damaged.

Damaging shackles is occasionally an unfortunate result of the process of attempting to remove them, however. imp

You can get new ones from rockauto

You should also use new U bolts
