Hey, here's a simple question ... I wired my subs, each one has its own amp, as follows: + From Amp 1 to Sub 1 + #1, - From Amp 1 to Sub 1 - #2, then a wire from - #1 to + #2. What type of wiring is this (ie. parallel, series, etc). The subs are Dual 4 oHm with 2 + and 2 - inputs on each, and I'm just interested in knowing what type of wiring this is. Thanks!

If you go from + to - and - to + you are using series.
If you go + to + and then - to - you are going parallel. This is what drops your impedance and gives you more power...only if your amp will handele it. Caution! You need to use the right Subwoofer impedance. To go 2 ohm load use two 4 ohm Subwoofers wired in parallel.

I hope I didn't mess this up. Go to Dead Link Removed and research this.

dual 4 ohm woofers would give you a 2ohm or a 8ohm load.

in order to get a two ohm load wire the first positive to the second positive on the woofer then wire that to the + on the amp....
the same for the negative.
to its +,+,+ then -,-,- which is parallel

This would be to the bridge channel on the amp

caution make sure you amp is 2ohm MONO stable

a 8ohm load which i doubt you would wire a single woofer to a single amp

you connect one positive to the the positive on the amp
one negative to the negative on the amp and then connect the positive on the sub to the remaining negative on the sub.... this is a series wiring.

im pretty confident with my information above.

Sorry! My bad. I ment to put 4 ohms. I have edited the above post. You got me before I had a chance to see it. That's why I included the link to clear confusion. Thanks for looking out for me though!

So... each of my amps say min. impedence bridged is 4 bridged and 2 unbridged. Does this have to do with with the oHm stability? I would like to do parellel wiring but am not sure if it's stable. Thanks!
