Go hav ea look through the photo albums... you'll find plenty. I think the key for it is to not hang down far enough to block or make approach angles awkward but to also make it out of thick enough metal that it wont' act like tin foil on a rock. As for mounting points I think it depends on your setup, probably from teh frame rails do some place past the front suspension near the tranny? Idk. Just my thoughts though.

heres what my skidplate looks like

welded to the frame

JoelH (or something like that) built a hoop that goes from one sway bar mount to the other. then bolted the skid to that. He has the blue pre-runner Bronco II with the custom fiberglass fenders. Look around here, you'll find it. It's a nice set up for a skid plate and can all be unbolted to get at the motor and axle...

A buddy of mine did mine, you can see how it starts out level, then bends at about 45 degrees, then ends out level again. He welded the bolts to the underside of the winch support and the other end he welded tabs to the cross member, then bolted everything in.

^^^ That truck looks awesome!!! good job, tell your friend he did an amazing job on your bumper.

That red ranger is pretty clean but not gonna help a whole lot as far as a skid plate on a Gen 1 Ex goes...

Anyway, here's a link to a Bronco II on TRS that has a pretty nice skidplate set up. My work computer is a little limited so I can post the pics on here someother time...
