my front side to side ride height differs by about 7/8", which is above the 5/8" spec in the book. My rear differs by 5/8" which is actually in spec. I have no problem cranking the torsion bar, but I'm concerned my alignment will be thrown off. Is that an issue for such a height adjustment?

If you crank the bars to either lower or raise it you will need to get an alignment afterwards.

Thanks..its probably time for one anyway.

Also, do you need the a puller to depress the lever before making adjustments? Or do you just crank the bolt?

Just crank the bolt. After you crank it, move the truck around a little to make sure that you have everything back to it's normal resting point and measure it again.
