So today, I was driving down the road, and this little truck pulls out in front of me, cutting me off. He was trying to make the Green Light 50 feet from where he just pulled out...

....well, he cuts me off by about 10 to 15 feet. And SLAMS on his brakes as the light has now turned Yellow.

Well, I slowed down A LOT, but still rear-ended him. He rolls forward...nobody hurt. Then to get out of the way, he backs up and hits my Explorer, again.

LUCKILY there was a witness that saw the whole thing, saw the guy cut me off..the WORKS!

Cops show up, and because I had a witness, and the guy ALMOST admitted the same thing, HE got the ticket for "Not Yielding the Right-of-Way"...the cop said NORMALLY I would have gotten the ticket, as I am the one that rear-ended him. But there was enough evidence that it was HIS fault..

I messed up my Explorer Express AirDam...and even worse...I messed up the drivers side Fender.

Pics to come...I can't find my camera.

Well I heard from the other guys insurance company today. They are accepting responsibility for the damage.

I can take it to one of THEIR shops, and they take care of it.

OR

I can meet with one of their adjusters and have them cut me a check.

I'll take it to a few shops before hand and see what they say.

i would take it to 2 or 3 higher end shops and get several quotes go with the highest quote, then get the ex fixed right and save yourself some money for some future mods;)

I got the check in the mail the other day....

$1014.xx

That did NOT include the bumper. Once the shop has the Explorer Express fiberglass bumper cover off the bumper, they have to call State Farm, and have them come back out, and take pictures of the damaged bumper...Then they will cut another check to cover part and the R&R.
