well, it is better to mount them lower if your indeed using them for foggy situations (since that will light up the road rather then reflecting the fog back into your eyes) if your just usign them for general lighting, higher is fine...
As for the lenses, yes, it is possible to buy the replacement lenses to switch from driving to fog or visa versa.

I have no idea what they run for. Might try anywhere that carries PIAA's and let them know what you need and they should be able to get you a price on them.

matt i got the 99-01 sport bumper and love the fog lights on it, they really project! I was wondering when i put my front plate if there is room for a coupla piaa's in that slot in the front, its kinda the same size as the 95-97 one, maybe even a little bigger. thanks matt

I think I recall Bill Kemp saying he had the 910's mounted in that spot... I don't have an explorer that year personally so I can't tell you from personal experience...

Yes I do... 959 in the bumper slot...1500 in the grill...Pilot 704 in the air dam....
