So whats up with explorer owners and offroading?

a few years back, like '02 on.... we had some of the biggest runs just about every other weekend up here in northeast PA, now.... well thats a joke... we can plan runs out months in advance and noone will show up.... pretty lame if ya ask me.

I see huge ass bronco runs, jeep runs, zuki runs, range rover runs, hell, even xterra runs..... but the explorer runs always flop..... whats up people? its no wonder that all these other vechicles get sponcers and such, but not for explorers..... CUZ NOONE SHOWS THE F**K UP!!!!!!

alot of you complain about jeepers, but ya know, atleast they show up for their runs and have a good time.

you can have all the clubs, arrange all the runs, and plan all you want, but time after time 90% of explorer event attendees back out.

bring back the old days, show up, wheel your truck, and DONT BE A PU$$Y!

I dont complain about anyone who gets out there and wheels.
I think alot of Explorer owners join other clubs that are not vehicle specific.

I also think it goes in phases, sometimes people's rigs are down for 2-3 years at a time while they build them!!!

But yeah it can be frustrating trying to put an ex run together, jsut keep the faith!
As the Gen I's and Gen II's get older you will see more of them

I think one small factor that sometimes puts people off is the gas prices.
Driving two or three states over on a vehicle that typically only gets 13-17 mpg is a little more difficult these days.

More like impossible for me. Gas is $3.03 here, can't afford to do anything fun with the truck anymore.

I'm sure it would help a LOT if people actually, you know, wheeled their Explorers and not every other type of vehicle. How can you have an Explorer Run with no Explorers?

Or some of us wheel locally. I go evreyday. Gas is 2.37 here though. I still cant afford going to the badlands or across a few states when i can wheel localy on private property(i have the owners permission). That has mud water hill climbs and it is alot softer on my walet.
