soch to ohv swap

Hey could i swap my sohc engine with a ohv one on my sport with minor modifications? What would i have to do to get it running. There is an awesome deal on a ohv 4L motor and i know you can do alot with the ohv so i was thinking i could get it rebuilt etc and get more hp then my sohc with limited mods.

I'm pretty sure there is some differnces in the way the different engines work with the transmissions, plus the engine controls would have to be changed...

For about the same amount of work and money, you could probably engineer a supercharger for your SOHC. The OHV would bolt up fairly easily, but you'd need the computer , exhaust (I think), and a few other things to be modified.

However, if you could find all the things easily it is definately doable.

heh yea but superchargers are so much $$ and i know i won't get that much hp out of it for the $. Take EE's s/c for example if it ever comes out!

The swap wouldn't be worth it IMO if you're not planning on supercharging it. Even with uppgraded internals you will only have a little more power than a stock SOHC.

If you wanted to do a NA engine swap, the 5.0 V8 and 4R70W tranny is the best choice. The 5.0 responds to mods well, it's reliable, and parts for it are cheap. Not to mention how much better the tranny is too.......

and a $50 4.0 doesn't sound like much.
