Something w/ rabbits. 72.5 pages of BS

I'm on my second 10 lb roll (I think they're 10 lbs). But there were other things I've welded like stuff for my freind's RX-7.

However, welding wire is the cheap part, its the shielding gas that is more expensive.

I can bench a 10lb roll of wire. Just so you know IZ

LOL well you should be proud, those things arent light................................ just so you know... JTX.

what are you using to debur the edge of the holes? or are those holes similar to razor blades on one side?

Yup yup.

So far I've tried two brands of hole saws, Dewalt and Rigid -- the Rigid cuts like twice as fast as the Dewalt but is more noisy. I've heard there are other better brands out there but Home Depot carries Rigid so thats what I've been using.

I'm disappointed :(, where are the dimple dies for all of those holes?

Some of the holes I run over with an abrassive doodad on the end of a drill, others I just leave alone to drain my blood the next time I grab for them ;)

The dimplie dies will be for the flat pieces that will tie the body to the cage. There's really not much 'strength' gained in putting the rear cross member's parts through a dimple die because the 'strength' the dimple would have added is on a plane that will not really be stressed unless the welds are ripped (when the 'box' right angled parallelogram cross section is obliqued and is more of a non-right angle parallelogram). But maybe this week we'll see some dimple die action because the cage to body marriage should be coming up soon.

Yeah, but they're so bling!:D

What does all that spanish mean? I got to hang out wiht some day to get smart shheeeshhhh!

Well a non right angle parallelogram is just one case, in the image below is another situation that is a little easier to visualize - when it becomes more of a trapezoid.

Figure A is the cross section as it is. Figure B is a deformed cross section where it has become more of a trapezoid. You can see where the third dimension of a dimple would help prevent the bowing of the top piece.

Trash can B looks way sicker than trashcan A!

I agree. What sux is that I dont have a sound clip of either trash cans.
But none the less, either cans sound just as well as my flowdisasters.

Getting ready to continue the cage work.

Unbolted the doors and split each one in half to remove unecessary weight. The outter skins were put away for storage and the other half was dropped off at the recycling center.

A mess:

The rear hatch was also put on a diet and stored away (no pic).

Heat from the plasma cutter shattered both front windows but passenger windows were fine for some reason:
