Just how bad would it be to have a stock sized spare tire when running 33 x 12.5's? I know its not the best idea, but my options on rear spare tire carriers are VERY limited. I am sure many of you know exactly what I mean. Are there any of you out there that are using the stock sized spare while running bigger meats???

now, running a factory spare with 33's around would pose a problem if it's done on short distances (to get to the shop or off the trail) and at low speeds. Also, that arrengement would definatelly not work on locked vehicles. If you have a permanent locker on your rig in the back then it would not be possible to run two different tires (size) on that axle....... on the front you can get away since you can just disconect the 4X4 or disangage the hubs...... otherwise I don't see why not..... lots of vehicles these days are sold with a mini spare,,,,

BTW, my spare tire carrier cost me $220.00 shipped to my door. an option?

Dre,
What type of carrier do have on it? Where did you get it? I know Explorer Express has one but it says only recommended for stock sizes. Can this one hold a 33?

I'd also be interested in a $220.00 tire carrier!!!!

PLease let us know! I just switched to 33's on my X and was wondering the same thing! I DID get a 33" spare and rim but i'm NOT looking forward to having it in the rear storage area all the time!

The stock spare is still underneath, just in case.....
