yea, in that video I have 2 layers of eDead V1 on the roof already, didn't help SPL but helped roof rattle a tad, but not enough as you can see.

Rear firing of course, I never liked the sound of up firing, at least not with that box.

Cool! You could always hit more if you tune it higher (I bet you know that aready). How you liking the Braham?

umm

Brahma's gone! but in my friend's 95' mustang...

Sealed now, 2.3 cu ft... interesting thing is that the only SLIGHT peak in this SQ enclosure is at 39Hz, 139.9dB on a linear X mic, scored him 3rd place in AS3, the mic was exceptionally hard that day as the temp was in the upper 90's.

thats the first problem, you are using eDead. you should use dynamat xtreme, which i love to advertise b/c i use the stuff like crazy. and you only have two layers. see everyone thinks they can just double layer and thats gonna solve all the problems. i have now five to six layers in my explorer. the only way to notice a difference in spl when doing the headliner is by puting 5 to 6 layers on the entire thing and possibly doing some welding if you're bored. you can weld some bars across to stiffen it pretty good.

well

well, I try not to cheat in MECA or dB Drag since I'm in certain classes, this prohibits me from doing welding, or more than 2 layers.

But mostly, I ran out of money at the time, and there's no way in hell I give a **** about taking the car apart again to add more ****.

eDead however works great, but if you've ever had a 15" Brahma, 1600 watts, and a huge ported box with lots of port area, you too would understand trying to stop the roof from moving is useless.

Well I just competed for the first time last night. It was an outlaw comp, but I have never been metered before so that doesn't matter to me. I got a 134.5 with 2 RE SE 12's and a Boss Rip-995. Gotta lot of work to do, but I think I can make a 145 reality.

yo

my 18" x.. scored me 148.9 today, tomorrow's the comp, I'll post an official score soon.

first of all its not all about how hard it hits its about pure sound quality-- I have a pair of daimond adio 12 in a non ported box with a pheniox gold amp pushing it-- also pioneer mp3 head unit with a 1.0 rockford fosgate cap--- i bet it sounds better and hitts harder then most

First off Sound Quality really doesn’t mean anything in SPL comps. You could have the most crappiest, sloppiest sounding sub, but it could be loud as hell. For SQ comps you can have a very nice sounding system that still booms. But if a person in particular is looking to be loud, he/she probably doesn’t give a hell about how it sounds. Just making sure you know why this thread is created, to post how loud your system is…

TRU TRU

BUT WHY SPEND HOW EVER MUCH MONEY TO PUT A HARD HITTING SYSTEM THAT SOUNDS LIKE **** IN UR EVERY DAY TRUCK AND GET A TROPHY FROM A COMPETION THAT ISNT WORTH ANYTHING.

I would rather roll around my nice explorer and listen to sum beats that drop and have better sound quality then most then drive around haveing ****y ass sound quality but breaks glass----- you cant go wrong with diamond audio 12''s by the way most trucks that are in competions are special modified for those competions from bussiness that try to advertise equipment;)

I would rather roll around my nice explorer and listen to sum beats blah blah etc etc.......

the key word here was "I"

for the other 8 million people that spend their hard earned money on a system that suites THEIR needs, i would assume all is well spent. Thank god for different tastes and styles.

I did a 153.7 last week, my highest score yet

Man i need to get a mic so i can see what this monster will do.....anybody have a roundabout number for a 15" DD 2400W sub lol....

nice

Digital Designs subs are some of the most capable SPL woofers out there today, I'm guessing you have the 9515 model since you say 2400 watts is nominal power handling.

Let us know what kind of box you have it in, internal cu ft, port size & length, how the sub/port fire into the vehicle and the amount of power you run to it. Then I will be able to guesstimate your score.

stats

Well for the measurements I don't have them at hand right now but I will have to dig them up. It is a homemade box and the sub is getting 2400W. It is a concept audio amp and the sub is firing from the back of my truck towards the front.....leather seats so it doesn't kill the sound to much....I hope :) Oh and it is the 9015 not the 9515 but it still takes 2400W very very nicely at 1 ohm

my epic150 says i hit 144 in my dash

anybody know how accurate they are?

hmm

they are accurate to ab out 149-150, but on others mics in comparison you'd be looking at a 141 or less on a goldline mic, a 142 or so on the new audio control mics, 138 or so on the Linear X, and a mind shattering 132 on the New termpro mics.

Took me a yr but I am almost there, I have 8 10" Lighting audio and 2 600watt Rockford Fosgate amps. I think its loudier now then it was. So I would like to get it tested soon.
