Yessiree!

I test fit Rockranger's 33x12.50 muds today and they fit well! I don't have to trim at all in the rear, and they tuck nicely into the fenders at full 'stuff'. In the front, I need to cut about 3/4-1" off the front fender by the door, and about 1/4" off the front bumper. Besides that, no problems! Due to gearing, I'll lose a little off the line but gain good highway power and maybe mileage. And it will return my speedo to being accurate again :)

So I'm most likely getting 33x12.50 BFG AT's and 15x8, 3.75 backspaced Rock Crawler rims. I'm probably gonna order them the beginning of next week.

BTW, In the rear I have 4 door leafs, Procomp Addaleaf, and Warrior Shackles. In the front I have a 2+" TT. So overall about a 2.5" lift.

Yippie!!! :bounce:

Does splat have fender flares? Can you still cut without ruining them?

Goood luck Alec! I hacked off about an inch of the fender by the door to get my 32's in. But sometimes they still rub right about here:

I'll make it work ;)
I only have to cut at the bottom where that fender flare 'elbow' is. I'll also cut the elbow to match then reinstall it. I'll grind a little off the flare to get it to blend into the elbow. Like I said, it'll work ;)

The rubbing's not even that bad without any cutting, I'm surprised.

Your putting 33's on a supercharged explorer? damn send me the supercharger man!!!!! What kinda engine you got? :D

Be sure to post pics!!! I may want to do the same thing. Do you plan on doing this soon?

yup. it might be hard getting pics up though. as for time, it just depends how long they take to get here.

sweet...... alec... time for some 4.56s ;)

:chug: :smoke:

Ordered 'em.

I think I'm going with ProComp XTerrains instead. They have them in stock and they look a lot better ;) They're still siped for rain traction, and should wear just as well; maybe a bit faster. The rims are being shipped, so they'll take a few days, maybe a week. Anyway, they gave me a good deal and I should have them soon!

Bill, as soon as I get my new ones you can have my BFGs. But I can come up next week so we can testfit them and also do some trimming on Splat.

that set up is gonna be AWESOME! Alec where are you in Cali? id love to see your truck and im in San Fran for three days and then im gonna be in LA for 3 or 4 days. i dont have my truck but id like to see yours. hit me back.

Alec, what you need is some Nitto slicks and a lowering......

Tarheel, gimme the dates you're gonna be in LA and we can try to work something out. I'm in San Diego, 2 hours South.

I can't wait for my tires!!!

Be carefull getting that thing to high in the air, you will have a hard time getting into it. :p

Well I guess Rick & Char find a way into theres, so you might be O.K.

I didn't have a problem getting into it with Matt's tires on there. Though I was also in junky clothes. Hmm, might have to be careful when I have to dress up fancy-like ;)

BTW, what looks would I get driving to a formal event in that thing?

The rims should arrive at 4wp on Friday. 3 had to be shipped from TX and one from Seattle. Anyway, should get the tires installed by Monday if the rims come in on time. If not, Monday or Tuesday.

Yippie!

You mean, besides the slap in the face from your date when she sees what she has to climb into in a dress? :p

not true, ive come to find out girls like the trucks with t33s. congrats alex, i know what you mean about the formal thing, hehe, you will get looks as i always do.

Hey alec. I didnt even think that when we took the spin with my tires we were at 4300 feet elevation. That might have a bit to do with the power loss as well. Should be better down by the ocean where you are now.

Matt

Well, the rims came in today and should've been mounted to the tires. Tomorrow morning they get put on the truck.

I can already tell I'm gonna need to do a fair bit more trimming, but I'll make them work ;) I'm looking forward to my speedo being accurate again and also better hwy mileage!
