Splat's getting 33's!!!

THEY'RE ON!!!

They look great, too! I had to trim about 2 inches off the rear of the front fenders, and about 1/2 inch off the front bumper on one side. I also trimmed a bunch off the plastic wheelwell liner and some trim. Unless you look closely or know the previous contour of the fender flare, you can't tell I trimmed at all. They don't rub on the street a bit. However, I know they'll rub offroad. Oh well. Anyway, they ride well; a bit stiff. Traction is very good, as it will always improve with 4 more inches of tread width ;) Cornering is also improved, as the truck is overall about 6 inches wider. The tires stick out about a half inch all around, about an inch on the pass front. For some reason, that one sticks out more (and it's not the rim, checked). Guess it wasn't noticable with the smaller tires.

Overall, I'm very pleased. I got a great deal, $850 out the door for rims and tires. It's actually a bit difficult getting into the truck now. With the added lift and tires, it sits over 3" higher.

So in short, 2.5" lift + 33" XTerrains = 2" off fenders + Bad @ss Splat!

Pics soon

I have that too, my drivers side front tire sticks out about maybe 3/4 to 1 inch more. No big deal though. My tires are a bit different than yours. :D

alec, how did u manage to get a 33 to fit with TT and shackle. did u get the whole 2" or 1-ish lift. now i am curious and i really want the 33 but i dont think it will ift mine. i got aobut 1 1/2" front and rear. u thin k1/2" will make that much of a difference?
thanks for the input.. mmyy hero. hehee

2+" TT in front
WAR + single AAL + 4 door leafs in rear

I figure I have a total of about 2.5" The rears fit without any trouble. I had to trim a fair amount (2") in the front, and they still rub when the suspension is compressed.

Pics soon guys!!!

Alec is your engine a 4.0 v6 sohc? And if it is, I am just wondering where you got your super charger from?

SOHC was first introduced in 1997 and Splat is a 1996

2+TT at the front? icrank it up that high up? hhmm.. intetesrting. stiff ride at the back with the addaleaf?

The ride is very good. I didn't notice that much difference with the AAL, though it does corner a bit flatter. It's a bit easier to hop the rears in a corner sometimes, too.

BTW, I don't remember the original height of my X; so I dunno if 2.5 is an accurate number. Sounds about right though ;)

Thanks ok89, does anyone make superchargers for the SOHC? Because I havent found a person that has one on this board....

No companies make a supercharger for the SOHC. Explorer Express used to list one on their web-site a few years ago with a release date for later that summer. It disappeared from their web-site. I have seen a couple of people that have modified a supercharger to work on their SOHC Rangers, but none yet on the Explorer.

Hey guys! Alec here from Bill's computer with pics!!!
