Are the doors just plain heavy on anyone else's Sport? I don't see anything about this topic in searching. The doors are so heavy that if I'm leaning out towards an incline it can take a good tug to get them swinging closed, and I'm not a weak guy at all.
The hinges appear to be perfectly OK and the doors swing smoothly, so the doors are in perfect alignment as far as I can tell. The interior handles cracked under the stress long ago and are in need of replacement, and the exterior handle is also pretty worn from it too.
Is there any way to lighten the door if nothing else? I can't think of any superfluous bits that can be removed from the door other than the plastic fascia or the thin noise barrier.
