Dont forget to fix the shackle angle -- I've seen a shackle flip the wrong way before and it didnt look healthy. Oh and your pinion angle! Might want to check that before going fast.

Rock on dude! I would like to see this finished too.
But you have some problems to solve. Like Izwack pointed out. This axle doesn't have the gear toothed ring that your 8.8 did that provided your computer with the speed of the truck. But he hinted at a way to solve that.

If, I wasn't so in debt and had child support to pay, my truck would be radically different than stock. Maybe someday I can do the ideas in my head. But, for now they are just ideas and dreams. I need at least 2 years before I may have serious cash to spend on it and make it what I want. For now, I'm just trying to keep it running which isnt easy because its become a serious rust bucket for sitting idle too long. My Limited is in much better shape with more miles and being a little bit older than my Sport Trac.

Johnstone..... you r crazy!!! ur trac is SICK!!!!! haahaa u were the one who showd me how to do the SOA. u sent me all those pics of ur setup....... thanks for the help man! Johnstone is a ST pioneer! and no unfortunately its not done yet..... left the shop i wass working for now im waiting for it to b towed home to finish it here. hopefully soon i need to drive this thing!

I have to say at first i thought you were just posting up on here to see the reaction of people and never did the work. Man now i cant wait to see what you do with it from now on. You have my attention.

What exactly is the rest of the project going to consist of?

got the trac back to the my shop! starting work on it hopefully tom after finishing a customer car,,,,,,, ready to go on rest of project
1 drop diff back down fab new brake lines from wheel cylinders to rear line and bleed
2 cut and weld drive shaft
3 fill diff fluid in rear
4 --- grin like a little girl as i drive my truck for the first time in 6 months through my backyard with no bed on the frame!

PS and then of coarse put the truck back together and figure out what to do for bedsides.......Bike is apart and sold my other meens of tranportation.......... NEED MY SPO TRAC!

hey guys its me again i sent the vid to my buddy who is posting it on youtube...but cant get the sound to work........ I NEED HELP! Johnstone any1.... Im talking to tom woods about the driveshaft .... but i put it all together and the truck has Park, Reverse, neutral, NO DRIVE, 2nd,NO 1st......... I REALLY DONT WANNA PUT A TRANS in this thing, but iv heard of valve body issues. What series trans is this? 04 sport trac xlt 4wd. HELP!

the truck wasnt moving on its own power wen we dissasembled, i was doing a burnout on 35'sx 14.5's wen the diff let go and we dissassembled. i hate my life i just wanna drive my st

hey i was wondering why the truck is sitting so tall?
it looks like a 8" body lift or something, are you gonna run like 38s or something haha

im trying to clear 38's! but i actually found that the trans did let go with the diff..... 1st let go..... thus no 1st or drive..... so i spoke to Monster Transmissions in floridaand theyr sending me out a Heavy duty trans and a Heavy duty T-case for 3400$ with a 650 core charge already in that. and Now i need my driveshaft made and still lookin for a good place. but any 1 know the best handheld tuner i can get? i need to play with this thing
