Can anyone tell me exactly what there is to a spring over? About how much lift will this give me? If I do this what do I do for the front? Can I buy half a lift kit or is there another way to lift the front? Any help would be helpful, I have been a Mustang man for awhile and this is my first 4x4. THANX!!

Al -

Recommend doing a "search" for "spring-overs" or "SOA".

At the minimum, a SOA (spring-over-axle) will increase rear height by about 4" (the thickness of the axle). This can be compensated by using longer shackles or dropping a leaf from the spring pack.

Without a doubt, the cheapest and safest way to accomplish the SOA is to purchase the Superlift 5.5" or Skyjacker 6" kit. You can purchase components separately, but the cost of those items (coils, brackets, etc.) added to the fab work you or someone else will do for the rear will soon eclipse the price of an entire kit.
