- 1996 Explorer XLT
My 96' explorer 4x4 xlt has a problem. I live on a hill and if I stop on the hill and quickly hit the gas it has a split second hesitation as if it wants to die. If I put one foot on the brake and one foot on the gas and goose it really quickly, it will die. After it dies I can turn it right back on again and it starts up normal and fine.
It has been to the shop and had the following checked/repaired
checked for vaccume leaks
- checked all electronic sensors and componenst
- replaced plenum gasket set
- replaced intake gasket
- new IAC sensor
new MAP sensor
- complete tune up with plugs
It still has a hissing sound in the intake but it cannot be located. It almost sounds like it has a cold air intake but does not.
Anybody else had this problem?
