Stalling while driving down the road.

Sensor

2000StreetRod,

If I replace the crankshaft position sensor will I have to adjust the timing, or can I just change it out?

yeah use a voltmeter next time it dies check the positive wire going into the coil
My coil had a bad power wire. I ran a new wire directly to the battery and this seemed to work. Is this bad?

Yes it’s bad
The power should come through the pcm/ eec relay

The camshaft position sensor itself can be changed without any timing, it is the camshaft synchronizer that the sensor attaches too that requires the engine to be at tdc and installed with an alignment tool
