Hey guys, I have noticed in the past week or 2 that it is starting to take more time and clicks for my ex to start. It used to start up right away, but now it hesitates a little. Could it be that my starter is going bad? It still starts strong, just takes a little more time. My ex has 155K on the clock and is the OHV 6. Thanks.

...This also could be caused by a couple of other things..

...Bad cables, or a battery going bad...I had a similar problem on one of my trucks and when I had my battery bench tested, it turned out to have 25% CCA of what it should have...;)

I vote battery unless you have replaced it in the last two years. It is trying to hint that it is going bad. The next stage is that you will try to start and get nothing because the voltage dropped below 10V.

I have not replaced the battery and I have had the car for a year now and I don't know what the previous owner did. I guess I'll have it bench tested tomorrow. Thanks for the info.

The starter could be, but it can also be a battery or cables. On my 96, the braided exposed starter wire that connects the brushes to the B+ terminal corroded away, broke in two and left a gap, and the starter wouldn't even budge. Just something to think about, its in a tight spot but you should inspect it.
