Starter problem.

I have a 96 Explorer and I have replaced the starter solenoid and the starter. The truck starts now but the starter keeps spinning. It doesn't grind but spins. I have used three starters and bought two different solenoids and nothing. I have checked the ignition switch and it seems to be okay. Can you think of anything that might be causing this problem. I see other posts for in reference to the flex plate but my symptoms don't seem to be identical to that person's post. I want to figure this out as I have been laying under this truck for nearly two days solid and not being able to figure it out is driving me crazy!! Please help me. Thanks!!!

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the stock 95-01 section. I think that it might be a problem with the flexplate since they do wear down, and cause starter engagement problems.
