1991 Ford Explorer
I just recently purchased a 1991 explorer. It is the sport model with 4 wheel drive.
The first time I took it up to highway speeds, I traveled aproximately 5 miles at speed and then I lost power and it died. It would not start back up for another 10 minutes. when it did, I was only able to drive about 3 miles, and the episode repeated.

The engine turns over but there is absolutely no fire.

Now it will not start at all. I thought it may be the fuel pump, so I replaced it.

It still will not start.
I have checked the following items:

There is fuel pressure (unsure of how much) at the test port
There is spark going to each of the cylinders.
It will start with a shot of starting fluid into the throttle body.

Does anyone have any suggestions as what to check next?

Thanks
Aaron

The starting fluid indicates lack of fuel. Check fuel pressure and that the regulator is functioning properly, and check that the injectors are cycling using a noid light or similar.
