Buddy of mine has a PA 3" lift on his 98 Sport and the steering extension sits loose inside the steering (rod?). We called a couple places to get just a replacement extension from the kit and they're asking $75 and up! I mean the kit itself is only $150.

Anyway, what would be the potential downside to just squirting some JB Weild into the rod, setting the extension in it (making sure it doesn't get into the bolt hole), letting it dry and bolting it back up to the steering column? Besides the fact that we couldn't ever get the extension off again?

Can't remember if the steering extension on the 98-01 are the same as the 95-97 but as long as the bolt doesn't back off, you should be fine. How much play is there?

I'd say a good 2 1/2 to 3" play turning either side before the tires actually turn. It's a lot and annoying to drive. . I put a WTB in the For Sale section just in case but I doubt I'll hear anything from it.
