Any ideas?

I flushed the brake fluid yesterday and in so doing turned the wheel to the lock in each direction with the engine off when I bleed the fronts, that's the only thing I can think of that could have damaged something?

I've done the same thing on dozens of other cars while bleeding the brakes and never had a problem though

Air in the Power Steering pump? I'm not sure why turning the wheel with the engine off would cause this though.

it seems to have gone away on my drive home tonight, as it didn't happen and I tried to make it do it.

I do know that if you turn the wheel with the engine off enough that pressure will build up in the rack and blow the p/s cap off and fluid out everywhere. I've had that happen to a friends mustang when loading it onto a trailer in the past.

I think air got into the rack and it bled out while driving, I checked the fluid level after it happened and the level seemed a bit higher than normal.

definately odd

95+ explorers/moutnaineers, if you turn the wheels while off the ground and engine off it will do this everytime, i run into this atleast 3 times a week at my shop, after a few miles it always goes away
