Steering wheel off center

I just replaced all the ball joints, tie rods & sway bar links over the week end.

I had an alignment done yesterday & my steering wheel is still off center.

Did the shop do something wrong & that's why it's not centered?

I'd say it's 2-3 degrees off to the right which is the same amount before the alignment.

Amyway to center it as it's driving me nuts & that's a short drive

I'll do some searching and see if I can do it myself. At least I know it will be done right.

my wheel is off center too, its turned to the right, it was like that when i bought it, i have gotten used to it except for at night the wheel blocks the high beam indicator, i am always high beaming people by accident lol. so if i where to get an allignment they would have to allign the wheel too?

no idea thats what the guy told me.....it waslike 10 bucks more for a 4 wheel alighnent. maybe he meant 4 wheel drive as opposed to 2 wheel drive?

Usaully 1 to 1-1/2 hours.

Four wheel alignments only pertain to vehicles with four wheel independent suspension.

I would look for another place as they are trying to rip you off.

Big o tire tried to pull that same crap on me. They insisted that i needed a 4 wheel alignment. I asked the guy if he was retarded and knew anything about cars. Needless to say after that they wouldnt service me so i just went to a goodyear service center.

If you told them you replaced the tie rods, they should have known the wheel needed centering--

The wheel should be centered as a part of any alignment job. Many places have a clamp or slip on thingie to ensure it is centered.

Do you have any slop or free play in the wheel?
