Hi all -- I'm new to the forum and have been trying to find some info on replacing the HVAC switch on my 2006 Explorer Eddie Bauer. The switch only works on positions 3 and four. 1 and 2 do nothing. I found a couple of other posts of owners having similar problems -- but, alas, no solutions.
I'm particularly interested in figuring out how to remove the plastic (wood grain finish) cover on the center of the dash around the radio and HVAC controls (my Haynes manual calls it a bezel, I think) without breaking it.
I think there are a few tabs to be depressed but I'm not sure exactly where they are located on the bezel.
Also, does anything else need to be removed prior to prying the bezel off?
I hope that if I remove the bezel, the switch itself will be visible and I can replace it.
Any suggestions/guidance/info will be greatly appreciated.
