Now thats just wierd I had the same exact problem last night, are gas pedals must be on their rag - j/k :p Mine was actually getting hung up on my hood latch popper thing located right next to the peadal, it was the wire, just moved it no problems ;)

It is pretty common for the inside of the throttle body to get gummed up and cause it to stick closed. I just remove the intake hose and use throttle body cleaner with a toothbrush and rags.

carb cleaner works great on the throttle body!

I had the same problem with the gas pedal sticking, so i took it to the local Ford Dealer and they did a complete upper intake cleaning, and i havent had the problem since. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I’ve had the same problem...lubed the pedal and cables yet nothing worked, so I cleaned my gummy throttle body and it was fixed, kind of. Still have a little stickiness but I just blame it on old stretched parts (92K miles). I recommend Valvoline's Performance System 3-part (fuel and intake system cleaning). We use it at work recommending to customers every 30K miles. Works wonders.

If you have checked for interference and lubed everything up it is most likely in TB.

what exactly is the throttle body??? any pics sot that I can do it myself ?

tx

Yeah, mine is sticking too. Im interested in this thread to fix this problem.

I just got in the TB intake with a clean rag and cleaned out the builtup soot. Did wonders! No more sticky pedal! Should be even better when I shoot some cleaning solvent in there!

i had the same prob but after looking there was a hole in the rubber behind the gas pedal that it was sticking to

A hole in the rubber ! ??? how s that ?
