still rough idle

i have a 97 explorer xlt. its been in the garage now 4 times within 4 weeks for the same thing. when i first start it in the morning after sitting alnight the idle goes up and down untill it warms up. then its ok. i just got it back tonight from the garage and still doing the same thing. they changed the intake manifold gaskets this time but didnt work. can any please help me out. im sick of it. thanks for your help.

Have they check the IAC? Idle Air Control Valve? I'd try cleaning it first. If that doesn't work, replace it. You can search this site for info on cleaning it yourself and possibly saving a few bucks. Welcome to the forum!

Did they change the O-Rings?? Those are what cause the cold idle problems on the SOHC engines. Search this site for 00M12 and 01M01 Ford programs. Ford does the repairs for free if you're under 72K miles
