still want lift spacers?

brandon is a great guy to work with and really stands behind his work. "the other guy" had all his machine work done at a machine shop so that forced prices to be higher but i think he still kept them reasonable. brandon i believe does just about everything in house so it allows him to make product cheater in cost but not duarablity. i have tosay thanks to brandon because he kept me updated on everything with my truck plus got me the parts i needed in an amazingly short time. thanks brandon the mountaineer is back on the road i hope to work with you again on maybe a bigger lift.

on the second note if you could build a lift like rize IND builds with an irs lifted rear and ifs lift i would be in! i say just "C" notch the rear loops then there is plenty of clearance for the axles.

You should look into a coil over setup instead of spacers, I dont know prices exactly but couldn't that be done for a grand, coil-overs and new arms?

Not likely. Arms alone are $500. 2.0 coilover with hardware would run $200-300 ea new depending on company. add in brackets, springs, tabs, limit straps and it adds up quick.

Plus the fact that the half shafts only have so much angle then your sol. I was looking at f150 adjustable coilovers for the front but I have my hands full right now

Just make a 3rd gen SAS kit and be one with it ;)

Ok I'm with kert I would be in on a front and rear sas!

The Bilstein Tacoma leveling shocks (BE5-C477-T0) fit fine on the front of the Ex and are valved correctly. They will also lift the front approx 2.5" and still allow it to be aligned. you. have to press your old metal bushing into it, and your set
Plus you get a 100% better shock then the stock and it still uses your stock coil for a great ride. and its only $160-180 for 2

I dont have the $$ to find out if they fit the back

If they are for Toyota TACOMA are you sure they will fit? Remember ours have 4 wheel STRUTS, not shocks.

As for the solid axles, I have no intention of spending $10,000 to lift this truck!

A SAS will not cost 10K....

Did you see the cost of that RIZE Expedition Lift that drops everything down? For that cost you could do a SAS and have a much better suspension setup.

Without spending more than $500 the max you can lift a 3rd gen is 5-6inches with the spring spacers and a body lift.

If you want more than that, or you want a decent riding truck, your going to have to shell out the cash.

This is why this thread is walking on a fine line. The next reply in the conversation will be the Financial/Resource Feasibility Analysis - and/or a work break down structure (WBS - in Microsoft Project format of course) for how to do an SAS on a 3rd gen.

Remember guys - the key word in this thread is "lift spacers" :). Thanks for sticking to the OP's topic.

It is getting out of hand...

I have a few ideas!
#1) Can we turn this topic into a poll? Or rather add a poll? As in if BTF made the strut spacers, would you buy them?

#2) How about cleaning this topic up and maybe Brandon of BTF should start an alternative lift kit ideas thread?

I think The Forum as a whole needs to have some closure on the other guy...then come together as a whole to figure out a better way. I'm down for any steps forward we can take or anything I can do to help the progress in coming to a solution for lifting the 3rd gens. If the new guy thinks he can do it better, so be it. I support him all the way.

ohh and all this needs to be done without mention of the other guy. IMHO

Okay, I pretty much agree with all of you that posted the last few comments:
I'd like this topic to stay on track, but I am also interested in exploring all avenues for lifts (including SAS swap kits, etc) so I will start another thread.

At this point, the demand for spacers seems to be there, so If anyone local can afford some downtime on thier truck and wants some cheap spacers let me know. I will probably limit them at 2-2.25" front and 1.5-1.75" rear though.

I for sure want 1.5" spacers for the rear and I'm in Orange County and don't mind driving up. How long would it take to install? I work a 8-5 mon thru fri so I don't mind just buying the spacers and having someone more local to me install them.

all you'd have to do is make sure the mounting is the same, I can look in a Monroe catalog and get specifics to match them up. You have these on the front of your now?

2.25" front and 1.75" rear is perfect when paired with the 3" body lift to clear 33's....it's what I'm running, and I wouldn't go any higher on the front, because of the angle of the ball joints.

dumb question, but are the spacers themselves 2.25" tall, or since they add leverage on the spring are they shorter than the actual net lift?

"He" cut my fronts at 2.25" meaning the distance from the top surface to the bottom, accounting for the thickness of the steel of course (1/4")...so there are basically 2 round 1/4" steel plates with the appropriate mounting holes and welded bolts, and a 1.75" steel tube in the center connecting them, equaling 2.25"

thanks, I know the truxx ones are different, because they turn the spring/shock ass'y 180º for part of the lift as well.
