Stock CD Player Restarts Song After Each Shut-Off!

I thought I've seen this on here before, but I've searched a ton and came up with nuthin.

I have the stock 6 disc changer and stock HU in my '96 X and whenever you turn the ignition off.. the CD song will start over from the begining.

Now I know this has been discussed before and it seems like someone said that the radio could be reprogrammed or you could download new firmware into it or something. Anyone know if this is true?

is there a resume button somewhere on it? that usually works for my stereos.

does the song start over, or does the whole cd start from the begining?

i had a simliar problem
my 89 cougar each time i turned it off and then back on the cd would play from the begining, the problem was there was no constant power to the cd player,
found out thats why it never kept the time too....hhehee live and learn
