Stock shackle modifications?

I was looking at the stock shackles today, and I was thinking: Would it be possible, to take off the stock shackles, and cut a small piece out of each one, and weld longer pieces onto them and then weld them all back together and put them on, similar to the Warrior Shackle effect. Do you think this would work? Because Warrior shackles are just longer right? Looking forward to your replies!

at pep boys they sell a set of longer shackles for like 20 bucks someone on here bought those and welded up a piece between the two plates to make them stronger and also an added plus is they are adjustable
