Stock Trim Mishap

So, I ran my 1997 Explorer XLT Limited Edition through the car wash today. The machine so kindly shredded the middle molding of the trim. Little did I know it is plastic, led/aluminum and rubber.
Here is the question. I think I have the pieces but I'm not sure how or if it can go back together. If not id like to know the best way to replace it. In the pictures it is the stripe piece in the middle of the silver.

so the chrome piece came off of the silver piece completely ?

That chrome piece is held in with double sided tape.
You can either clean off all the old adhesive from both parts and add new automotive double sided tape, or simply quirt in some glue and reinstal.

Yeah it came off completely it crinkled the soft metal underneath. I am unable to smooth it out. It damaged the driver door as well. The strip that came off is clear. Half crescent and flat on the side that went up against the metal. The tape has the metal 90% still attached.

Oh, the whole molding.
Well the metal part, grab some gloves and a pair of pliers and rip. The metal doesnt need to be there. Be careful though its super sharp. Clean the remaining adhesive from the molding and door and reattach.

Ah ok thank you! Is that tape gray? The strip is semi clear wouldn't want black fake chrome!

The skinny one in the photo, you are telling me that is clear ? ( semi clear )

Yes. The skinny one that goes in the painted slot that had metal then tape. and yes its milky white I'd say its 20% transparent.

Okay then.
Thats not right.

It is suppose to be chrome. It seems it has separated.
Sigh.
That piece needs to be replaced, and I am not sure if its is still available.

That's what I concluded :/ Therefor I cleaned off the clear piece and put stuff under it the same color as the tape. I held it in the panel and it looks fine but its off colored :/

I believe you can replace the chrome trim and buy a replacement at autozone. Just remember to use a good double adhesive tape like 3m and clean the surface before installing.
