2000 ranger
Hello,

Ok, this probably a stupid question, but I am going to ask anyway.
When I bought my ranger it did not have a spare tire. So, instead of first checking into the storage space under the bed, I just went out and bought a full size spare tire. It obviously does not fit into the designed area, but could I still store a full size spare there anyway? It does hang over the side of the storage compartment somewhat, but it does not appear to be interfering with the exhaust or anything else.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jim

what size tire/rim do you have under there? I believe the are supposed to fit a full size spare.

When I got my 04 Ranger, it had a temp spare. I put a full sized 225x15 wheel and tire under the bed without any problems at all. Don't have the Ranger anymore, got an Explorer instead (back seat is paradise for my son).

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Yes, I do have an explorer as well, and it does store a full size spare, but the ranger compartment is much smaller. Thanks BW, if you did not have any problems storing a full size wheel, then I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for getting back so soon.

i have a factory full size spare on my 02 ranger

Mine came with a 265/75/R15 spare. What size are you running?

when i had my ranger i had a P265/75/R16 that fit fine under the truck in the stop position. It stuck down a little lower than the stock tire, but it fit fine.
