strange noise

1996 Explorer sport auto. While drving any time I get above 1500rpm there is a faint sound coming from the drivers side of the motor. It almost sounds like a small exhaust leak or vacume leak but it only makes it while driving not in park or neutral. I can't even feel any leaks while I'm in the engine bay. Its strange that it only happens while I'm going down the road. I noticed that it doesnt do it when I make a turn at a stop light, weird. Any ideas?

Does the egr system only operate when the vehicle is in drive? Because it sounds like an exhaust leak coming from the egr but it only makes the noise when in drive.

No, EGR would leak all the time.

Then what the heck is it?! Some kind of vacuum leak, I think it might be related to my check engine light coming on, bank 1 and 2 lean.
