I noticed this today right before heading off to work...

I shifted into reverse to back out of my driveway as usual today, and about 2 seconds after i shifted a sound that seemed to be coming from the front left of the vehicle started and lasted about 3-4 seconds and stopped, its a hard noise to discribe but its not like a metal-on-metal noise, the trans. doesnt slip at all when i shift into R, it just makes this sound right afterwards.

I almost wanna say it sound like a pen clicking in rapid succession for a few seconds.

any ideas?:salute:

Autohubs might be bad.

My bad.

I thought it happened while reversing. Heat shield might be a culprit. Maybe you have a loud transmission, as solenoids open and shut in order to go in reverse, they might be making noise. I've heard it on many automatic vehicles before... just never paid any attention to it...
