Hey everyone I've got some weird things going on with my 4x4 on my 93 Explorer, To start with it doesn't work.
But that's not what is weird. Okay so I just replaced my thermostat and the temperature sending unit for temp gauge, So now there is finally sufficient heat and the gauge works.
But now since the interior is heating up the 4x4 buttons light up randomly, they don't usually do that. I was just wondering what that could mean? I have tried putting it in 4 wheel a few times and still all I hear is a click in the back and the battery meter drops for a second and then nothing. Thanks for the help guys.

For the 4WD, research shift motor bushing replacement. You'll want to disassemble the shift motor (it's not hard) and check for a deteriorated stop bushing. If the bushing is crushed, which is common, you'll need to replace it to make the motor work again. You can also verify transfer case operation when the motor is removed by turning the shift shaft with a pliers to manually engage 4wd.

Okay, Thanks for the help I will see what I can do as soon as the weather warms up, And I will post what I find.
