Structural shudder

I just got an used 1994 Explorer XLT 2WD with 130 K miles and I like it very much. However, I notice that when I drive on rippled pavement the body goes one way and the frame wants to go in the opposite direction.ç
I realize that body on frame trucks do that, and I do remember driving a 99 Explorer and noticing this very same trait.

However, in my truck the shudder is pretty bad. I have to drive pretty slow because I feel spooked.

My question is: I know there are bolts (or something like that) to attach the body to the frame.
Do they need to be tightened, adjusted or replaced? I didn´t find this info on the maintenance/service booklet of my truck.

If you replace all your body mount bushings with urethane it will really help with what you describe.
A urethane body mount kit is under $100, but it does take some time to install

Your suspension likely needs some attention as well.
It all starts at the tires and works its way up through the springs and bushings which are controlled by the shocks...
replacing all the factory bushings that are likely now worn out can also do wonders!
You can order an entire kit for your truck that includes every bushing for the truck I believe from Performance Accessories.

the body from the factory is set on the frame using rubber pucks and large bolts.
They wear out.
I replaced mine last winter (88 BII, 230K miles) and WOW what a difference
