Strutteks installed....serious rake

Thats good! So, you put all new Monroe Quick Struts on and is the same all the way around correct? Did you change the coilsprings as well?

Yah, the Monroe Quick Struts are a complete new assemblie ( strut and spring pre assembled) just like the Strutteck units. The Monroes compared to the factory ones have one more coil on the spring, I assume that will make it stronger? I like that its level though, not a big fan of the raised rear end look.

Yeah, the level look is WAY better. If you dont mind me asking, where did you purchase your Monroe quick struts from?

I got them on Amazon with free shipping, plus Monroe has the buy all 4 and get a rebate check for one of them. so it was a pretty good deal i think. And instalation isnt to bad, took me about 7 hours total for all four( thats going to the auto parts store for 18mm deep socket and new sway bar links + dealing with the kids!!).:D

here are the pics of the new Monroe fronts next to old stock springs

Yah! im really happy with it. Like i said before, its a lil more exspensive then the struteck, but there not on back order and have the rebate until tomorrow!!

I have front and rear Strutteks on the way. What size spacer should I use in the front to level it out?

has anyone run the struttek quick struts in the rear and rancho quick lifts in the front? i would assume that should lift both the front and rear almost equally eliminating the huge rake

I measured my stock struts compared to the quicklifts and the difference is about as much as the strutteks...the main difference is where the spring actually seats on the quicklifts is higher so I think it yields more lift. The quicklifts settle quite a bit from what I've read. There is even a sticker on them that says they will settle/sag once broken in.

I'm planning on picking up 4 corners as well and am thinking a 1.5 inch spacer up front should do the trick.

Im hoping a 1.5 spacer can take care of this rake. I installed all 4 I have to say these struts make towing a breeze. The truck stays level with my usual hook up.

how much do these struts run

$263 shipped to my door
$130 installed at local shop
$65 for alinment
I was worried about rake, but turned out to be insignificant. Plan on 2"/1.5" BTF spacers for the lift and level.

For those of you running spacers, where are you all ordering them from?

Why are some people reporting rake while some are not?

Perkins you will have to check the site primechoiceauto there price is cosnsantly changing. I paid about 275 shipped to door. When i first started looking at them less than a year ago they were closer to 400. Im guessing since monroe came out with the econo-strut which runs for about 100 each they had no choice but to drop the price.

Mgg if you run all four corners you will get a rake. Some guys are running just fronts or rears or with ranchos up front and so forth. I dont really want to run spacers my cv are already clicking. Im thinking of just throwing my mother in laws body back there to level it out. Happy Holidays

Better hope the wife doesn't happen upon this thread! :fire:

I did all 4 corners with Strutteks 1 month ago. RF +3/4", LF+7/8", RR +1", LR +1 1/8". Made for a mild lift all around but barely any differance from stock rake. The reason I had more increase in lift on drivers side was probably due to more wear on stock struts.

I've noticed that on Explorers with a class III hitch installed the rear end sits higher… But, ones without the class III hitch sit level… I always just figured it was higher in the rear to compensate for tongue weight when towing a trailer and to level out the ex while pulling. I see a lot of pickups the same way...

i finally ordered my struteks for the front and rear. i will be installing them on Saturday or Sunday. i cant wait to install them along with new wheel bearings and various bushings that need to be replace. My X is the most bumpy uncomfortable ride and my front tires are wearing on the insides so theys struts are very much needed.

My question is will this effect my sway bar links? Will i need larger ones?
