Does anyone know of a stump bumper for a late model. I am worried about messing up my powering sterring unit. I have gotten mud wedged up in the lines before and it scared the crap out of me.

I am getting ready to put a 2 or 3in Body lift on it. I've not decided yet. I am assuming that by doing that, that my power stearing unit will be exposed quite abit more. Also it looks really kewl.

if you find out how to do the body lift or someone to do it for you let me know. there is not a kit for it and all the off road places around me wont modify a body lift they all say "if they dont make a kit for it there is a good reason for it" i am not sure if arb makes a bumper for the new explorers i got a manick brush guard on mine it looks awsome and is very strong. Oh come to think of it tjm i think makes a bumper i saw it on an explorer on this page it was a red one stuck in clay it is on the new 5 pages of riders rides. teh only problem with that is going to be the body lift will expose alot of stuff under the car like the radiator and a bunch of other ugly stuff that the original stock bumper will cover up

Ok jeff,

I'm sure you have seen trucks that are really jacked up. A stump bumper is the metal piece that attaches near the bumper and goes down to the axle. It is not a bumper. The purpose is, if you hit anything, ie. a stump or rock, that is lower than your bumper but higher than your axle, it keeps your axle from being ripped out from under your car. your truck is supposed to kind of skip over.

Check out....

This has what your looking for I believe.

that is exactly what i am looking, but for my 96. After seeing how simple that is, I probably wouldn't have trouble making that my self.

Thanks

4 Wheel Parts has a late model Ranger skidplate made of aluminum for $139. I think it's made by Trailmaster of James Duff.
