Yup, I too have fallen victim of the engine sucking.. Occasionally, back in the day, the CEL came on. It was usually 70mph, under load (hill or passing someone) and i found with high octaine, never had that problem, only when using low octaine... Anyways, yesterday, driving back to school on good gas, i noticed my power from about 1000-2000rpm the motor bogged horribly. Then if ya really stomp on the gas, it'd jump to about 3k, and just crank like it always has.. Now, the check engine light is on, no, i dont have a code reader, but with my 94 limited, is this one of them thingys autozone can check out fer free? Also, my theorys are clogged cats, or fuel filter...
I dont plan on buying a reader unless last resort, cause im darn near broke. I've searched, and read a lil about the TPS and IAC... I've cleaned the MAF within the past 2 months, so I doubt that is it. I also read the TPS and IAC can be common problems.. What do these parts run, and are these ford only parts? Oh, where the hell are they? Go figure, my Haynes manual is 230mi away at home. Oh, also read some having problems with the FPR... i dont see how this oculd be my problem, since once ya hit about 3k, the thing just motors along perfectly! gonna check the vacuum lines this afternoon, anyone got more for me to look at?
Thanks guys!
Pete
