as soon as i turn the key and the engine turns over, the rpm guage reads about 500 rpm and the engine stumbles, then about 2-3 seconds later it is just like something catches and the idle then jumps to about 1300rpm and is normal as it slowly lowers while the engine arms up.

also occasionally on startup the stumble last longer than 2-3 seconds and i have to give it gas to get the idle up and wait about 10 seconds or so for it to stabilize.

i don't think it is the iac because i replaced it about 2 years ago and have recently cleaned it. the only thing i have not done it cleaned the MAF. i know there is a write-up on here from snap-on that i printed out a while ago about cleaning it, but have not got around to doing it. can a dirty MAF cause this?

Do you only feel this problem when it is starting from a cold start? Do you have any CEL? My first idea was the IAC, and the second one was a sticking TCC solenoid, or clogged TCC filter/VB. Do you have any similar issues while driving, like studder from the TCC, or slipping? Do you use Mercon III? Have you examines your engine, and transmission mounts for any excess play? That won't affect the idle, but might make if feel like a shudder when the engine is cranking. First clean out the IAC, and TB. Check the rest of these things after you do this.
