Done alot of research to do this, order re-indexed keys and 3" blocks. Though I am curious on how I can make the ride sturdy enough not to bottom out. I know I will have to cut a majority of my bump stops. As far as shocks I am looking nitro slammers and asking them to make them for a 3" drop. I have heard you can add a leaf to the rear, can someone clear the air on this? Also, Monroe Air MAX shocks how are they for this application?

really no one out there with a 3" drop that doesn't bottom out?

Too much for the upper ball joints IMO. You need to address this also.

You will loose all "up" travel in the suspension. This will make it ride very harsh.

JMHO.

So DJM lowering shocks or Nitro Slammers?

You will bottom out like that. I do every couple days. You can buy the upper and lower control arms from airbagit.com but the prices are ridiculous.

You just have to be careful where you drive and what the truck is capable of. It is the quick dips that you have to watch out for.

Well i'll start out by saying HI to everyone. I've been watching this site for a couple of years and this is my first post!!! I am also trying to lower my x and maintain an extremely good ride or handling. I got a set of moog upper arms with the replaceable ball joints (both sides are 1-piece arms). I removed the ball joints and pressed them in backwards. Then I switched sides (left on right side upside down). This helped correct the ball joint angle. I only dropped mine 1.5 inches but this will help when I go lower. I put 2 inch blocks on the back. I can see that i will have to C-notch it to keep enough suspension travel. The other thing is I plan on relocating the upper arm mounts outward about 1.25" for correct camber settings when I finish dropping it. It's alot of work but thats what makes it so much fun. Thanks Mike

Doetsch Nitro Slammers FTW! get on rangerpowersports.com and look at what the ranger edge guys are doing. It's the same suspension

Too many options and I'm not good with shocks, so is rangerpowersports.com the best help out there?
