Suspension lift vs. Body lift

I want to put a lift on my 1998 V6 XLT, mainly because I think the stock height is dorky looking, but also because I would like to be able to off road to go shooting without messing up my under carriage. I'm leaning towards suspension lift, but I know some people who have suspension and body lift on theirs. Anyone have any recommendations?

Lifting your truck is essentially all about making room for whatever size tire you will be running. You can lift it 5", but not gain any ground clearance at all if you keep your stock tires (approach,departure, and breakover angles will improve though).

If your worried about dragging your chassis then I think you answered your own question.

Suspension lift to raise the chassis and tires to raise the axles.

And then you'll have to figure out if you need a body lift to clear the larger tires.
