Sway Bar Disconnects

I was considering using Clevis Pins for sway bar disconnects so I could just pop them apart to go off-roading, and I’ve read about people making them out of steel in their shops or whatever, but I don’t have access to a killer tool set to do so. Has anyone else used these pins for this application? I drive my exploder every day, so I need them to hold up on the street pretty well. I was just considering removing the back sway bar, but wasn’t sure what sort of handling problems I’d run into then. Lemme know what you think. Thanks.

Yes, clevis pins will work to hold the bolt in. I run my truck without a rear sway bar, no real difference other than more articulation.

I no longer use mine. I took both bars off.

the ones pictured are similar to the ones I made for my BII, front and rear, Except I used a much longer pin and I put a spring between the sway bar and the keeper pin/clip with washers to keep everything very snug.
It takes a bit more effort to install them, the spring is hard to compress (both hands) but it keeps everything tight and rattle free

I used small bungee cords or zip ties to keep the dog links held up and out of the way when removed

I have since removed both bars from my BII and no longer use them
