I'm replacing sway bar bushings and end link bushings this weekend. I've read the post by Sticky on the repair and found it quite useful. My question is if, where and when the truck needs to be jacked. Are any brand of bushings preferable?
Thanks guys,

Tom

Well, if you want to tighten up your suspension, use poly bushings, otherwise just use the normal rubber bushings. The poly bushings will keep the truck roll tighter, so the sideways roll isn't as bad as having rubber bushings. Last longer too. JMHO

The black graphite impregnated poly bushings don't squeak like the other colored poly bushings.

job done

Well I finally replaced end links and sway bar bushings with Moog parts. The job initially went smoothly. One end link bolt came out fairly easily and I thought I was on my way to a quick completion. However, the other end link wouldn't come out for the life of me, So I took the sway bar out with endlink attached and rapped the hell out of it, no go. Finally took a hack saw to it to get the job done. I wonder why the old end link got so firmly attached to the sway bar. I seem to remember that Ford had a recall regarding the end link bushings but don't know details. The old busings I pulled out had no resemblence to the new ones I used..............Anyway, that persistant knocking is gone and thanks to the guys who responded as well as the one who did some great write ups on the topic.
