Sync 2 replacement to Sync 2 Climate controls not working.

Hello everyone

My name is Torrian and I have a 2012 Ford Explorer XLT (nothing fancy). I recently had to swap out the APIM and I lucked up and got one off FB market place from an 2016 Explorer. Put it in my truck and it worked fine. However the only thing that isn't working is the on screen climate control. The button react but don't change anything climate related. The physical buttons work but :

- You can only turn on the rear climate control on the screen
- The screen shows you what your current temperature is
- Can`t control seat temperature

So my question is:
Do I need to just reprogram it? and if so, can I go to the dealer and have them do it?

Welcome to the Forum Torrian.
I see that on the 2016 Order Guide one of the new features says SYNC replaces SYNC with MyFord on the Base and XLT models. I don't know if that is what the issue may be. The 2016 Explorer was a 'refresh'.

First off thank you for the response.

Does that potentially mean I'm kind of out of luck? Or do I need to:

1- Find a module from my same year (2012)?
2- Just upgrade to Sync 3?
