Sync upgrade and steering program

Hey guys,I’m hoping somebody could answer this for me. My 2015 explorer needs a new rack and pinion and it apparently needs t programming. I swapped out the sync2 to a sync 3. Will this be a problem for my mechanic? Or do I need to put it back to stock? Thanks

The rack & pinion should involve a different module than the apim module for the sync.
