Ok guys, sorry it's been a while since I've posted. Been hard at work on the Shadow. Ok, here's what's been done and what planned.

1.) Truck PC.
I recently purchased a "Book PC" with the intent of permanetly attaching it to the vehicle. I'd like to report this is going EXRREMLY well and I hope to have the 2nd generation prototype finished this Sunday. The Alpine IVA-C800 head unit is making a excenllent if a little difficult to read monitor. DVD, MP3, and GPS are right around the corner. I've also decided to go with an Intel wireless network between my home LAN and the truck. Better for transfering the MP3's. One problem, I need a custom power supply made to convert the 14.4 volts the alternator puts out into the 24 volts the computer needs. This inverter stuff isn't going to work forever.

2.) Custom Center Console
Looking good. I have the CB and DVD drive of the computer mounted at about a 75 degree angle. Easy to read, and I'm using a slot loading DVD (Pioneer) for the DVD drive. The "Book PC" has been, rebuild, to fit in the bottom of the center part of the console. I'm going to mount a touch pad mouse on the arm rest to control the PC. (Pic's comming soon)

3.) New Sub
I'm replacing the MTX sub in the Thunderform enclosure with a Diamond Mac-Daddy 10". Hopefully it will fit without much modification.

4.) Dynamat
First half (Drivers side) of the dynamating complete. Did the WHOLE cargo bay. They even dynamated my Wiper resivour and jack!

5.) DSP
I'm adding the Alpine PXA-H510 Digital Signal Processor to help out with the MP3 and DVD playback. Optical inputs. Gotta love that. Plus it's nice to have pro-logic and parametric equalization abilities.

6.) Alarm
I just added an Alpine SEC-8063 alarm to protect all of the equiptment I've got in my Navajo.

Needless to say, I've been a busy Skippman. Anyone here think I'm overdoing it?

I for one dont think you are over doing it. Pics sound like a good idea so that some others of us (Me) could do the PC thing in the future

Hi, I was just wondering how the dynamat thing worked out. My back hatch vibrates pretty bad and I was wondering if it would help get rid of the vibration.

I would definitly love to see pics of your new system.

The Dynamat has helped. I havent done the hatch itself yet. When I do I plan on doing dynamat on the back, dyna-shield on the corners (Thier spray on stuff) and either weather stripping or some other such beast on the actual seams of the panel, as that is where I suspect the majority of the vibration is occuring.

As for the PC in the truck, I'm getting ready to work on it now. Gettin my camera as we speak. I got the book PC from a friend of mines computer store at http://www.kwcomputers.com. It's not listed on thier sight, but if you E-Mail them and tell em Skip sent ya, they'll hook you up. On any PC equiptment for that matter.

For any body part that isn't exposed to water or lots of heat, I lay down a layer of dynamat and then some layers of cardbored, depending on how much room I got....It seems to work really well...I've got alot of power flowing and my rattles are very low...Pete
