Taking Driveshaft out

Hey i was wondering if any of you had taken the driveshaft out of your v8 awd ... how does it affect mpg or steering... any bad results.... good results.... im thinking about doin it for towing on asphalt and as i really dont need awd hoping maybe it would free up some mpg....

I did it about 3 weeks ago. Steers like a warm knife through butter now. Better mpgs too (like, way better (on mine at least)). Just always use your e-brake cause the sucker will roll in park.
